How can I reset Learner Problem attempts for Lesson Activity Sections?

Instructor and Admin Staff – Information presented in this article is meant only for administration staff managing the course.

Resetting problem attempts is handled individually and cannot be reset as a group.

There’s a good chance that you are going to need to know how to reset student attempts on a lesson activity section problem. The platform allows for resetting individual learners or the entire class for a specific problem. Please review the section that pertains to your needs.

Overview

The activity problems can have the following configuration and actions available:

  • No submission limit is set (infinite attempts). This allows the learner to attempt the problem multiple times and therefore doesn’t need a problem Reset.
  • Learners will be able to Show Answer after they have used all attempts on the problem or the due date for the problem is in the past or they have correctly answered the problem.
  • For the drag and drop problems there is no reset needed by the administration staff as this action can be performed by the learner.

Individual Learner Enrolled in Course

Instead of viewing your live version of the course in Staff View, you can decide to view the course as a specific learner. This will allow you to view how the learner answered each problem while still providing you with access to Staff Debug Info viewer. If you would like to do that please see Specific Learner View section in this article.

How to view Course Content Based on Roles?

To reset the number of attempts for a single learner has on an individual problem, follow these steps.

If you would like to allow the learner to retry the problem again with their answer choices removed, select Delete Learner’s State within the Staff Debug Info viewer.
